Available Position

Python Developer for CRM Dedicated to Mission-Based Organizations

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to help lead the development of the next generation of features for MatrixMaxx, our web-based SaaS (Software as a Service) product. MatrixMaxx is a CRM used by trade associations, professional societies, and nonprofits to manage their memberships, meetings and registrations, donations, committees, product sales, subscriptions, and mailing lists. The MatrixMaxx tech stack is LEMP (Linux, nginx, MySQL, Python).

This is a full-time position. Full-time remote is available since we’re probably not coming back to the office anytime soon, or ever. We used to be mostly in Crystal City, but now we’re in DC, Virginia, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, California, and Tennessee. Bonus points if you’re in one of those states because we’re already registered in those states.

The MatrixMaxx team is a high-performing, self-managing team that gets a lot of work done. We’re not fully agile, but we’re getting there. We live and die by our jira board and we’re chatty on Slack all day long (not always about work!).

Ideal Candidates will have experience with the following:

– Object-oriented and/or dynamically-typed programming languages (especially Python)

– Relational databases (ideally, MySQL)

– Version control tools such as git or Subversion

– Unix command line tools for development and administration

– Juggling multiple projects, tasks and deadlines in a team environment.

Bonus Points For You if You Have Experience with the Following:

– Debugging and maintaining large systems (100+ KLOC)

– Writing RESTful web services

– JavaScript toolkits such as jQuery, Vue.js, React

– Python web frameworks such as Django, Pylons, Turbogears

– Python/web server interfaces such as modpython or WSGI

– Identifying and implementing process improvements

– Jira
